Nepenthes hamata is renown for having the most fearsome teeth of any Nepenthes species. It is a highland plant requiring warm days and cool nights with good light and humidity. I have found the Nepenthes hamata clones from Lumut to be the most robust growers of all hamata available in cultivation. In particular, this clone and the one from Malesiana Tropicals are the most vigorous growing. The plants have been greenhouse hardened and are much more tolerant of swings in temperature and humidity than plants grown under softer conditions or those freshly out of tissue culture. Popcorn bidding is an anti-sniping feature that extends the auction time by a small
amount to give each participant a fair chance to place their final bid.
