Here we're showing a Nepenthes with one of the coolest characteristics we've ever seen, Nepenthes singalana x hamata "Metallic Shine". At first glance, "Metallic Shine" appears to have a multicolored peristome with different hues of red and silver. However, upon closer inspection, you'll find the entire peristome is a uniform deep red. The coloration comes from the teeth emerging at a variety of angles. This causes light to shine based on your observation point and the angle of light hitting the peristome. It's like a house of mirrors on a pitcher! We plan to register this cultivar very soon! This plant really fills the hear of the optics/physics nerd inside us.
Will these become available absolutely amazing looking. I see Singalana x Red Hairy Hamata but never does it look this good
