A beautiful species endemic to the Hose Mountains of Central Sarawak featuring one of the most beautiful peristomes of any in the genus. The lower pitchers are cylindrical and beautifully striped; however, the uppers are its forte and exhibit elaborately flared peristomes. Nepenthes platychila is best grown as an intermediate. We have grown it as a lowlander and it does fine as well. Grown as a highlander, platychila will grow but will be slower and only hold 1-2 pitchers at a time.

Temp Day temperatures of 75-85°F, dropping to the 60s at night.
Light 12-14 hours of bright, indirect light
Humidity High humidity is recommended, but nepenthes can be bag acclimated to ambient household humidity. Check our bag acclimation guide for details.
Watering Water with pure distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. We recommend top watering Nepenthes.
