Nepenthes izumiae is one of our favorite species. It comes from the Barisan range in Sumatra and produces deep purple/black pitchers with a toothy, flared peristome. It makes excellent hybrids. We’ve found it to be a strict highland grower which really needs cool nights to thrive. The plants available are clones from Borneo Exotics.
