Nepenthes muluensis

Regular price $63.75Nepenthes muluensis is a highland tropical plant occurring on a few peaks in central Sarawak (Gununung Murud and Mulu are some locations). It's a compact grower when small and produces gorgeous red leaves and pitchers. As the plant climbs, the pitchers transition colors from red to a gorgeous glowing white. This change is likely due to a change in prey targeting strategy as the vine ascends in the canopy of the upper montane forests they inhabit.
In cultivation, we've found muluensis to really need solid highland conditions to thrive. It also seems to appreciate higher light levels than most Nepenthes. We grow ours under LEDs but a sunny spot in a cool greenhouse also works well.
