This enigmatic species from Mindanao produces some of the largest pitchers in the genus! It grows best in intermediate and highland conditions with high humidity. The plants listed for sale come from Borneo Exotics, BE-3517. This species was recently described and once was designated as “black truncata”. There’s some controversy over the origins and taxonomy. In general, we over at Carnivero fall into the camp of “groupers” as opposed to “splitters” because we’ve observed such a plethora of natural variation during our observations of the majority of the genus in the field.
