Drosera x 'Hercules', CAR-1391
This impressive sundew is a hybrid between Drosera capensis alba and Drosera aliciae. As its name suggests, ‘Hercules’ is an exceptionally robust grower, combining the upright growth habit and elongated leaves of D. capensis with the broader leaves and stockier growth of D. aliciae. Mature plants develop numerous wide, stap-shaped leaves with red tentacles and form impressive clumps. ‘Hercules’ was registered as a cultivar by Carson Trexler in 2018.
Both parent species are native to South Africa, and ‘Hercules’ is an adaptable and vigorous plant in cultivation. It appreciates bright light, consistently moist soil, and moderate temperatures, but tolerates a relatively wide range of growing conditions. ‘Hercules’ also readily produces plantlets from its thick roots, making it an easy sundew to propagate and an excellent choice for growers looking for a large, showy Drosera.
This product is considered an Intermediate Tropical plant. Please see our Shipping and Guarantees policy for cold/hot weather shipping guidelines.
Most of our products come with multiple shipping options. For those that are unpotted, you can add Pots and Soil or Hanging Baskets a la carte.
