Nepenthes Shadow Leviathan, CAR-0893
Nepenthes Shadow Leviathan (naga 'Paul Barden' x Leviathan) CAR-0893 is a formidable hybrid that lives up to its name. This hybrid combines 2 giant parent plants and we expect it to be as dark as the dark depths.
From N. naga 'Paul Barden', this cross inherits its deep coloration, dragon tongue lid appendage and huge size. The influence of N. x Leviathan (rajah x peltata) brings sheer size and pitchers with stout, powerful stature.
The result is a hybrid that produces huge traps with deep coloration, widely flared peristome designed to capture attention as much as insects. As the plant matures, the pitchers should become increasingly robust (as with most rajah and peltata hybrids). We expect this one to be an easy grower under a wide range of conditions.
