Hydnophytum formicarum is an epiphyte plant native Southeast Asia. Its amazing characteristic is its caudex at the base of the plant which is a specially adapted chamber for housing the ants that form a symbiotic relationship with the plant. The plant grows little dark leaves and has bright orange berries. It is a very easy to grow and only reaches about 12 inches tall making it is an excellent vivarium plant.
