Doubling up on the carlablackiae genetics allows enough of the venation of the carla to show in the progeny while still obtaining the vigor and ease of growing from the 'Ace of Spades'. Plants are vigorous growers and don't seem to mind summers in our greenhouse, unlike the infamously fussy carlablackiae parent.
