Sarracenia 'Scarlet Belle' is a beautiful cultivar selected for its beauty and vigor. This is a primary hybrid between Sarracenia leucophylla and purpurea. It has a compact growth habit and produces red topped pitchers mottled in white.
Sarracenia, also known as American Pitcher Plants, grow in boggy, open savannas in the southeastern United States. For many years, misinformation spread that carnivorous plants were hard to grow or required very stringent horticultural requirements. Fortunately, this couldn’t be farther from the truth! American Pitcher Plants are hardy temperate plants capable of being grown outdoors in nearly every state in the USA (some winter accommodation may be required for harsh northern winters and for desert summers). Our plants grow outside in the burning Texas sun year round and have even taken cold fronts down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter with no ill effects.
The photos are representative of the plants that you will receive. Note that since these are living plants that are continuously growing, there may be a small degree of variation (bigger or smaller) compared to the photos. Growing instructions, pot and soil will be included in the shipment.
